The skiing at the 2020 Florida State Championships presented by Ski Fluid and Action Water Sports this past weekend produced many record setting performances and personal bests for the competitors. Our thanks to Kyle Eade and the members of the Ski Fluid Water Ski Club, for hosting a great tournament.
We had records set this past weekend by our competitors in several age divisions, but there were many PB’s set by our up and coming younger skiers:
Boys 4 Slalom – Connor Pauley beat the old record of 1.5 buoys at 58kph 12m held by Bradley Baxter with a new record performance of 2 buoys at 58kph on the 12m line.
Boys 4 Trick – Erick Macias-Sedan shattered the trick record set in 2013 by Taylor Garcia with a score of 5550, with a new record setting performance of 8150 points.
Men 7 Slalom – Jack Mills smashed the M7 slalom record held by Dennis Longo and Mark Bozicevic with a score of 2 buoys at 52kph on a 11.25m line with a record scoring performance of 3.5 buoys at 52kph on the 10.75m line.
Men 7 Trick – Bruce Kistler set a new M7 trick record with a score of 3390 points beating the old record held by Frankie Dees at 3180 points set in 2018.
Master Women Trick – Sally Montavon smashed the Master Women record score set by Brenda Nichols in 2019 of 2010 points with a record setting 5470 points.
