Ann O’Brine-Satterfield

Ann O’Brine-Satterfield of Winter Haven a member of the Lakeland Water Ski Club was the first women’s disabled water ski athlete to complete a jump on the sit-ski, which she did at the 1989 Disabled Water Ski National Championships. She is a five-time winner of the Women’s national overall title and two-time world overall champion. In 1994, the United States Olympic Committee honored her as Female Athlete of the Year. She has moved on from competition and now coaches’ disabled skiers on a regular basis at her ski school, U2CanSki, in Winter Haven and conducts clinics throughout the United States.
