Ed Daley

Inducted into the Florida Water Ski Federation Hall of Fame 2005

Ed Daley of Winter Haven retired from the US Air Force into central Florida and started enjoying water skiing as a pastime. After his retirement he worked at Disney World as Flop the Rabbit, Cypress Gardens, and Cypress Gardens Skis during the time that we moved from wooden skis into the era of fiberglass skis and was instrumental in the development of the wing on the ski fin. He was a senior driver and worked tournaments from Miami to Jacksonville during his career. It was his idea to start the Florida Water Ski Federation up again from its beginnings as the Florida Water Ski Association started in the late 1950s by Ken Hillier and Col. Bill Allan and then falling into disinterest in the late 1960s. (Deceased)
